P4/5 Mrs Jones & Mrs Donnelly

Science in P4/5 - making a boat which floats!

To finish off our topic on Rescue at Sea, we designed and made boats. The boats had to hold 5 passengers and float across water. We could only use straws, tinfoil, card and playdough!

We had 3 winning groups - Hollie, Shania and Jay C, Diego, McCoist and Jack, and Ocean and Harlie. Well done!!

Our class has been learning about Sea and Rescue. We invited a Level 3 Lifeguard from the R.N.L.I into our class to learn about the safety and dangers around the sea or any waters. The visitor was surprised by our children's very interesting questioning from their own research they had already done in class.

Trip to Lisburn Linen Museum: The Science of Flight

P4 and 5 had a great day out on Wednesday 3rd June to Lisburn Linen Museum.

We had a really interesting tour of the Linen Museum itself and learnt so many interesting facts about the history of linen!

Then we carried out some science investigations on the science of flight. This was all rounded off by a trip on the train!

The children were commended by the Museum staff on their intelligent questions asked throughout the day - well done P4/5!

Parklife Summer Project

P4/5 had a great morning out on our final session of the Parklife project in our local park. We enjoyed searching for and finding all sorts of minibeasts - look at the size of some of the worms we found! Thanks to Lucille for a great year with Parklife!
