P6 were recently invited to the Grand Opera House for an exclusive tour and access to behind the scenes! What a fabulous morning we had! Thank you to Lucy from the Grand Opera House team for inviting us, we learnt so much! 😀
P6 had a fantastic time when the farm came to visit! We got to meet lots of animals, including a very noisy parrot 🦜 named Ollie! We even got to hold a snake 🐍. Take a look!
P6 were very lucky to be invited to Windsor Park yesterday and had a tour of the Linfield Football Club! ⚽️
P6 have been learning all about the Chinese New Year at the Grand Opera House today. This year is the year of the dragon 🐉. We learnt how to use chopsticks, had our names written in Mandarin and even learnt how to fan dance!
As part of our topic, all about Space, P6 visited the Armagh Planetarium and what a fun day we had! We made and launched our own rockets🚀, explored the museum and even went on a virtual ride through the solar system with some aliens 👽
P6 being "Piped" into the Spectrum Centre today, for a fantastic presentation about Robert Burns!
P6 had a fantastic time today at the Spectrum Centre. We were there to celebrate the famous poet "Robert Burns". We got to meet him and he even recited lots of his famous poems for us!
P6 had a wonderful time today, we got to have a snowball fight inside a huge snow globe! We even got to meet Santa and ask him lots of our burning questions!

P6 attended the UK Agency Space Conference 2023 in The ICC inside the Waterfront Hall. We took part in lots of activities such as building and launching rockets and using a green screen. We even got to hear from a real-life astronaut! Take a look at our fantastic day!

As part of our topic about Chocolate, we have been learning all about Science. Recently, we conducted an experiment to find out which type of chocolate melts the fastest! Which do you think?
Today, P6 went on a trip to the Grand Opera House, where we watched a show called "Silly Moos" it taught us all about how farms in Northern Ireland are being mindful of their carbon footprint and how we can help look after our environment too!
It's Odd Socks Day!
P6 Bowling team -' Blythefield Strikers' wearing their new kit. The team enjoyed a Scavenger Hunt around the harbour followed by their long awaited bowling game. Everyone took part and enjoyed cheering eachother on. A tasty lunch was provided by Jonny and Luke from BSCR. A big thank you from the P6 team who say this was the best day ever!
6 P6 pupils had a great trip to BSCR with Jonny and Luke. They worked together alongside 5 other schools to design their bowling team logo. They were able to print their names and numbers onto the back. They are so excited to see the finished result Go 'Blythefield Strikers '.

As part of our topic about Chocolate, we have been learning about the history of chocolate and where it first originated. The Ancient Maya, in South America are apparently the first people to make chocolate and they used to drink it with chilli 🌶, honey 🍯 and cinnamon! So, we made and tried it! Not sure if we all enjoyed the unique taste!
A great day was had when P6 got to visit the Grand Opera House, Belfast and take part in an Art and Drama workshop! We even worked closely with one of the stars 🌟 of this year's pantomime, the EVIL QUEEN 👸✨️
In PDMU, P6 have been learning about all the things they have in common and what connects us. Take a look at our "Web of connection"
P6 used our harvested apples to make...CHOCOLATE APPLES! This was a perfect addition to our wonderful topic all about chocolate 🍫 😍
P6 have been out to the garden picking apples! We were able to harvest a lot! Watch this space to see what we do with them.
