Numeracy

We used cuisenaire to make numbers from 11-15.

P1 used cuisenaire for the first time. They enjoyed exploring the rods and making pictures using the different lengths and colours. They were able to work out the value of each rod and made stairs from 1-10. They had great fun !

P1 are learning to count backwards. They can put the numbers in order from 15 to 1.

We enjoy playing Numeracy games on the interactive whiteboard.

Sorting 2D and 3D shapes

P1 enjoy writing number sequences and practising number formation on their whiteboards.

P1 have been learning to make sets and build towers within 10.

Ordering numbers and quantities within 10. P1 had fun using the Christmas numberline and putting them into the correct order.

P1 enjoyed using unifix blocks, pegboards and bead strings to create repeating patterns with 2 and 3 colours.

Data Handling- Sorting animals with legs /no legs using a Carroll Diagram.

Measures- P1 have been learning about length. They used cubes to measure caterpillars and compared their results using the words long and short.

P1 Data Handling- We sorted 2D shapes together using a Carroll Diagram.

P1 have been exploring the topic of capacity. They enjoyed finding out about the properties of full and empty together.

P1 enjoy using the interactive whiteboard . They play games to help them learn to count, recognise and sequence numbers and patterns.
