P1 have enjoyed using the Cuisenaire number rods to make pictures and steps to 10. We have been using the language of one more than and one less than when we explore the rods in order to 10. 😊
The children have been learning all about repeated patterns. Have a look at the different ways P1 made their own patterns. 🤗
Ordering by length - The children have been learning to order length by shortest to longest. The children then had a go at using non-standard units of measure to see how many cubes long their different caterpillars were. Have a look at their excellent work! 😀
Sorting by size - The children have been using compare bears to sort the objects by size. The children were encouraged to use the terms ‘smaller’ and ‘bigger’ throughout this lesson.
Sorting by colour - The children have enjoyed using coloured counting animals to sort by colour.
